Billing & troubleshooting
Billing & cancellation
3 min read · Updated May 2026
Everything you need to know about your Plumbify subscription — paying, updating, cancelling, and what happens to your data.
Updating your card
- Go to Settings → Billing.
- Click Update payment method.
- You'll be taken to Stripe's secure card form.
- Enter the new card details, click save.
The new card is used for the next billing cycle. If you have an outstanding invoice (e.g. a failed charge), Stripe will automatically retry the new card.
Where to find invoices & receipts
Every invoice is automatically emailed to your billing address when it's paid. To see the full history or download PDFs:
- Settings → Billing
- Scroll to Invoice history
- Click any invoice to download the PDF receipt
These PDFs are accountant-ready — they include your business name, address, tax breakdown (where applicable), and the Plumbify tax ID.
Switching plans
You can upgrade or downgrade anytime:
- Settings → Billing → Change plan
- Pick the new plan
- Confirm
Upgrades are pro-rated immediately — you pay the difference for the rest of the current billing cycle.
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You keep your higher-tier features until then.
Pausing your subscription
If you need a break — slow season, taking time off — you can pause without cancelling.
Email us at joe@getplumbify.com with "Pause subscription" in the subject line. We'll pause for up to 90 days at no charge, with your data intact and your phone number reserved. Just tell us when you want to come back and we re-activate.
Self-serve pause is coming to the dashboard soon.
Cancelling
- Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription
- Confirm. You'll see a banner showing the date your access ends.
What happens when you cancel:
- You keep full access until the end of your current billing cycle.
- No further charges will be made.
- You'll see a "Subscription ending [date]" banner on your dashboard.
- After the end date, your dashboard is read-only — you can view historical data but not make new calls or send messages.
- Your Plumbify phone number stays reserved for 30 days after cancellation. If you resubscribe within that window, you keep the same number.
What happens to my data?
After 30 days of being cancelled:
- Your Plumbify phone number is released back to the carrier pool.
- Your account moves to "archived" — read-only for 12 months in case you want to reactivate.
- After 12 months, all data is permanently deleted per our privacy policy.
You can request a full data export at any time before deletion — email us and we'll send you a CSV bundle within 48 hours.
Refunds
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first month. If Plumbify isn't working for you and you tell us within 30 days of signup, we refund your first month — no questions, no hoops.
After that, we don't pro-rate refunds for partial months. If you cancel mid-cycle you keep access through the end of the period you've paid for.
The "Founding 10" plan
If you signed up as one of our first 10 customers, you have a special lifetime-locked rate. As long as you stay subscribed continuously, your rate never goes up — even when we raise prices later. Cancelling and resubscribing forfeits this rate.
Heads up: If your card fails three times in a row, your account will be auto-paused (not cancelled) and you'll see a banner. Update the card or email us, and we'll un-pause immediately.
