How review requests fire

2 min read · Updated May 2026

This is the simplest feature in Plumbify. There's nothing to set up, no button to press, no campaign to launch. You just keep marking jobs complete in Jobber like you already do.

The flow

  1. You (or your tech) finishes a job and marks it complete in Jobber.
  2. Within 60 seconds, Plumbify sees the status change.
  3. Plumbify sends an SMS to the customer asking for a review.
  4. If they reply with anything 4-star-or-up vibe, Plumbify sends them your Google review link. If they reply with concerns, Plumbify routes the message to you for a callback (no public review).

That's it. Whole thing is automatic.

What the review SMS looks like

Default template (you can customize):

Hi [Customer first name] — thanks for choosing [Business name] today! How did we do? Any feedback we can use to make our service better next time?

It's intentionally low-pressure. No "5 stars please" begging, no link upfront. The link only appears if they reply positively. This protects your Google rating from unhappy customers who got pushed to leave a public review by mistake.

What if they reply positively

Plumbify auto-sends a follow-up with your Google review link:

So glad to hear that! If you have 30 seconds, we'd really appreciate a quick Google review: [link]

The link goes directly to your Google review form so the customer doesn't have to navigate anything.

What if they reply with concerns

Plumbify does not send the Google link. Instead, it sends you an alert with the customer's exact reply so you can call them and address it personally. This is how you keep your Google rating clean.

Setting your Google review link

You have to provide your Google business profile review link once. We don't auto-detect it.

  1. Find your Google business listing on Google Maps.
  2. Click Write a review — copy the URL of that page.
  3. In Plumbify, go to Settings → Reviews → Google review link and paste it.
  4. Save.

If you don't have a Google business profile yet, set one up at business.google.com first — it's free and takes 10 minutes. We can help you wire it up if you get stuck.

Timing & quiet hours

Review SMS only fires between 8am and 8pm in the customer's local timezone. If you mark a job complete at 9pm, the review request waits until 8am the next morning.

This isn't just polite — it's required by federal law. See TCPA basics.

Customizing the message

Go to Settings → Reviews → Templates to edit:

You can use variables like [customer_first_name], [business_name], [tech_name] in your templates.

Pro tip: Mentioning the tech's name in the review request ("how did Mike do today?") increases reply rates by about 30% in our data. Customers feel more obligated to respond when there's a real person attached to the work.

Pausing reviews for specific customers

Sometimes you don't want a review request — bad-fit customer, complicated job, payment dispute. Two ways to suppress:
